My brother came round last night for the first time in twelve months, with a card and the usual bottle of rum for Dad. Apparently he stayed for 20 minutes or so and they chatted about cars etc - no real talking. Our family doesn't communicate well at all and I can imagine now that this whole thing will get swept under the carpet and we'll pretend it never happened. He was brave to come round after so long, I'll give him that credit. Its a step forward I suppose.

Had to go emergency birthday present shopping last night after realising its my Dads birthday... today! I got him Lord of the Rings 1 & 2 on dvd. (Its good to get pressies I can enjoy too hehe!) So, had to miss out on kungfu.. probably just as well as I've never met the guy who does the monday class. I'll go on saturday when the top guy will be there - I suspect he'll be pleased to see me :) I tried my old suit on last night though, the pants are too short and I'll probably get a new one - the belt still fits though! ;)
Did the pub quiz again last night, competition was fierce, there were more quiz geeks there than usual aswell as us mere mortals. We did well, all things considered. I nearly stood on the pub cat on my way back from the bar with three pints, daft thing - I think its suicidal!

Weekend was great, as predicted. ;) Saturday I got up early (can you believe it?) as I was stewarding a cross country race. I was *cold* and I didnt take my gloves :( Then a few of us went shopping in town which was pretty fun. I bought a tshirt with the Superman logo on it, I've wanted one o' these forever, so that was satisfying. We set off pub-bound early in an attempt to get the 'good table' in the corner (big enough for all 11 of us) but we arrived to discover that some old couple who had clearly come in for they're tea had already taken it (highly annoying when theres plenty of other smaller, couple-sized tables around) grrr. They sat there and watched us struggle, squishing onto two tables which we moved together, oh well, at least it was cosy :)
Then the clocks went back - extra hour in bed. But then that combined with church being half an hour earlier than usual = confused me. lol. The reason for that being that there was a trip up to Brough in Cumbria arranged for that afternoon. We set off straight after the service and stopped off in Kirkby Stephen on the way. We had to kill 2 hours there, which was a challenge. There were two people showing various birds (Owls/eagles) which was the most interesting thing there (LOL) they flew them which was pretty cool (that falcon person wanted me! ;) heheh) - made me be a volunteer to form a 'tunnel' for the eagle to fly through. Then I had a HUGE owl land on me - wow. We all had a meal together in Brough and then attended the chapel service. We filled it.
Ok, let me explain about Brough. Our church has run a youth camp there for the past twenty-odd years, and due to a few changes we're now unable to do so. Its only a small village, I could count the number of people who go to the church on one hand. On the weekend we would normally be there in August, they were all in tears. So this trip was arranged as a thankyou to them. They're the sweetest people. It was good :)

Oh my gosh, as I sit here, I feel just like I'm at the dentist. The office upstairs is to have a new floor fitted this weekend and as I type, some bloke is using an industrial sander on the floor right above me. Its making my desk shake and is making an awful drilling noise. And I have to put up with this for the next 4 hours? I'm sure that'd be against health and safety regs. I can see me getting a headache sometime soon :(
This weekend should be great, all my long lost buddies are coming home, so tomorrow night we'll all be piling in the pub. Its gonna be fab. Plus I'm playing the drums on sunday (which always makes me happy) and I dont have to worry about planning a class this sunday - bring - it - on! :D

Wow, what an amazing night I had last night. I got back from work and Faith, my old buddy from uni, had sent me a text message; saying she was nearby and could come and visit me if I was free.
I had to help out at church with this kids competition thing, so I asked her to meet me there. She came along and ended up having to help out, which I found quite amusing! I introduced her to my niece, which was nice, and then afterwards I took her down to my local.
It was good to catch up as I hadn't seen her since last December. It turns out shes now living with Ali & Jo, I managed to get Ali's phone number :D I think about her a lot. I should visit them more.

Had to de-ice the car this morning for the first time... brrr.
My parents got back off their hols this morning, I saw them briefly before I left for work. They've bought me two wrap - around/sarong things for my hols. I dont know when my mother will learn that I dont like pink! Ah well I suppose it matches with my ill lookin pale skin, and may possibly draw attention away from it if I'm lucky!
I'm on a weight loss mission at the moment - I need to lose this beer belly! Therefore have given up beer (its hard!) and am going back to kungfu.
I
will

Snowed under this week, and being pestered by various south africans, norweigans, and the usual brits. gah! My teeth and head ache. I think I'm about to have a stint of wisdom tooth hell. aargh. My coworkers music is severely irritating me, moreso his consistently bad singing along. Other than that things are bright and sunny between certain hours, I need more sleep.
Tonight...
I will...
relax... ah :)

I'm so - tired. I can't take all these late nights, I'm such a lightweight! On friday I did little, planned for my sunday class and then watched tv, I was up till 2am watching Bridget Jones' Diary. Did a bit of shopping on saturday, bought a new suit *yawn.* Then that evening I went to a birthday party, it was ok, there weren't many people there though, but it was still a good night. Then afterwards we went to some friends of mine until 3.30am. We walked home, past a group of blokes breaking into a van which was a little unnerving. They weren't at all bothered that we'd clearly seen them and carried on. We walked off swiftly. On sunday afternoon we went playing snooker, hadn't been for a while so we were a little rusty: and it showed. But that just makes it all the more amusing. Then last night we all piled into Grahams. His house is SO cold (especially when your sat on a wodden floor leaning against a cold radiator!), I wish he'd put his heating on.
My folks are off to Gran Canaria tonight, freedom for a week! :D Party at mine next weekend, everyones invited! :D

SO glad its Friday! We're so busy at work, there aren't enough hours in the day. Its been a busy week. We didnt go out last night for what must be the first time in years. We went out the night before cause it was my friends birthday. I got her a miniature shopping trolley filled with miniature bottles of booze - cooler than it sounds! Along with a handmade card :) I had quite a bit to drink and it was pretty strong stuff. And yesterday I had a headache all-day, I wont be drinkin that again! We took the church youth group to lazer quest - I came fourth - heh. After that Phil and I watched East is East, we borrowed it off Martin but I reckon we'll buy it as its such a brilliant film. Watch it, its just like where I live :D

I've had a lovely weekend. On friday Phil and I went for a meal, I had a "whole hog" which is steak, gammon & egg, chicken, bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, chips, peas... *phew* needless to say I was stuffed. So the rest of the evening was spent recovering infront of the tv. I phoned my chum from uni which was cool.
On saturday I went shopping with some buds. We saw several women collecting for Breast Cancer research. I couldnt help but snigger at their tshirts, with "please support" enblazened across their mostly large chests (childish I know - and I'm ashamed) but it was funny :D I bought a birthday pressie from paperchase and a lovely Bench top. And finished off with a Choco Praline Mocha in Starbucks - yum.
Last night we took our group to Planet Life, a Christian youth event held monthly for kids across Manchester. Its always good. Apparently Mel Gibson has produced a movie about the last few hours of Jesus' life, Due for release next Easter - called the Passion. They showed a clip of the crucifixion, which was quite graphic, but then - it was. Looks good anyway - I imagine I'll cry, hard.
I'm amazingly good this monday morning, its pretty bright, although cold. I saw a gorgeous rainbow on the way here (which always cheers me up).
I think its gonna be a good week....

WHAT THE?! Ahem, thats a bit better, maybe I'll explain..
Ok so, this guy has done a search on google and found the board from me typing his band name in one of the threads. Now hes joined and I dont know. Its just a little strange for me. See I dont know him, but I do know the singer of his band. I removed my blog link off my profile, just so he cant read it.
I see this as almost private, in that, here I can talk about how I'm feeling etc etc. Mostly for my own benefit with the knowledge that no-one I "know" is reading it.
Thats sounds a little odd. Maybe I shouldn't write things what I'd be uncomfortable with people I know reading it. This place isn't that "safe" anymore.

Not having a bad week, my boss is back in today. This must be the first time hes been off and theres been no major disasters! Phew. Monday was a good night, we came third in the quiz, and Lauren came along after telling me she wasn't. And I wore my cap, I'm in a cap phase at the moment :) Last night I went to a youth leaders meeting in town, it was quite encouraging to see quite a few people there, and I got some prayer for sunday which was good. Daves planning on renovating one of the rooms into a funky youth café venue. I offered to do his flooring, I'd love that! Martin dropped us off at Phils house and I had a missed call on my phone. It was Jo from college, the bizarrest thing is I only said the day before that I'd ring her on that day - how weird! So I rang her back and we had a good long chat. I miss Jo & Craig. Phil and I are gonna go and visit them next month, that'll be good.
Phil and I has a chat about our holiday too. I think its either Hawaii or the Bahamas *excited* :D
