Just got back yesterday from Cyprus, had a cool time :) Nice weather, nice hotel, nice food, nice beach and nice local beer :D cheapish too. I think I put a few pounds on after pigging out on free food and several beers throughout each day LOL ah well.
They're a laid back people and all friendly to tourists. Got hassled a bit from some timeshare folk though, its hard to be polite to some of 'em. grrr.
The plane was delayed for 5 hours coming back, due to a series of events. I'm not that good at waiting, so it was so good to get home. Missed last orders though, which was a shame. hehe

As the day goes on, my voice is becoming more and more non-existant. I've never lost my voice before, its all new to me. I'm finding it odd going to speak and nothing but a small, high-pitched whimper coming out! Maybe I need Scotch? :)

Not had much to write about over the past week, to be honest. I think I might change the name of this blog to "what I did at the weekend" whatcha think?!
I'm trying to fight off this damn cold and cough for next weekend. Booked a holiday to Cyprus and fly in the early hours of saturday, I really can't wait. I've had like, a week off all year, a break's just what I need. Sun, sea and sand - fabulous. Well... this weekends been pretty average really, didnt do much on friday. Went to bed after work and stayed there, Phil came round and we watched tv in my room. He brought the new Peter Kay "vd" which was highly amusing and cheered me up no end. (Dickie you have to see it! :D)
On saturday it was the church Christmas Fair, I had to do face painting for three hours, wasn't as busy as usual, which was a blessing for me (I actually got a few breaks!) still shattered me though - felt a little guilty about breathing my cold all over about 20 kids, oops. That evening we went out and I drank Jack Daniels all night, cleared my nose and throat momentarily :D
Did little yesterday, watched the rugby in the morning, played a little 'Track n' Field' and watched footy in the afternoon - very blokey. Attempted to sing in church - big mistake, sounded rank. Managed to get out of carol singing at the local hospital on Christmas Eve, lol. Then ended the evening trying not to punch very loud, ignorant, and smelly pubescent boys.
Couldn't sleep last night due to regular coughing - need to wake up....

I just had the best weekend, it went far too quickly. Went to the fire for a couple of hours on friday. It was pretty good - nice weather, nice atmosphere, nice pie too :) Then I went home at about 8 to get ready, and headed over to Wakefield. It was great to see Jo again, and Craig. We chatted for a while about various things - caught up, sunk a few beers and hit the sack.
Saturday we trundled over to the new snowdome in Castleford. It was *huge* and a pretty impressive place, although v expensive. Jo and I went tobogganing, which was basically sledging. I had a near miss when I flew underneath the barrier onto the *real* slope, little did I know that there was a snowboard approaching me at some speed. I got out of the way quick though.. phew. Jo cooked up some steak when we got back, which was delicious. Then we caught a taxi over to town and saw Matrix Revolutions, great film. Then ended the evening in a bar that Jo & I visited regularly during my time there. On Sunday we watched the rugby then headed out for Sunday lunch. Afterwards we visited our old uni, and the attached sculpture park. It was kind of weird going back there. Happy, sad, and strange all at once. The few students we saw wandering the grounds all looked so young. The memories came flooding back.
I'm off tomorrow, such a lovely feeling. I've only had 8 days off all year. We're gonna book our holiday for the end of this month. And prepare for the ever looming church Christmas Fair which is this saturday, LOL.

I saw my brother last night, for the first time in like a year. I was at Ruths house helping set up her new tv. He came round to drop Jess off, I bet he shit himself when he saw us all. I only looked him in the eyes once and half smiled at him - no exchanged words. Jessica was a welcome distraction and he left within 60 seconds. The atmosphere was thick. *sigh* Betsy remembered me though! :D
Now that Bonfire night is over, I'm going to one tonight AND tomorrow night - LOL. Manchester seems to have gone mad for fireworks this year. They're SO loud, and being set off constantly. It was literally like being in a warzone last night. I joked that anyone could walk around firing a machine gun and no-one would notice!
Tonight I'm headed down t' pub. Their fire was HUGE last year, and we missed the fireworks. Hopefully we'll catch em tonight. Then tomorrow night is out church fire, which is always good. We usually watch it until its nearly burnt out but Boyf and I are visiting a couple of my old uni buds this weekend, so we'll have to leave at about 8, get showered and head over to Wakey. Then on saturday we're goin skiin.. weeeee.....

I finally dragged myself to kungfu on saturday. It was quite a blast from the past. I hadn't been in 5 years, and there were lots of new faces. I was surprised by how much I'd forgotten, especially the little things. I found it physically a little hard (as I imagined) I nowhere near as supple as I was, but hopefully I'll get used to it again pretty quickly. I enjoyed it, and realised how much I'd missed it. Its strange, the last time I was there I was classed as a kid, and now I'm an adult. So many people have moved on etc, it was strange for me being the newcomer for once. That evening we managed to get the great corner table in the pub, which was good as it was D's last night with us. Then after that Lauren made everyone a coffee, and showed us her new hamster. I was quite alarmed when it fell off the peak of my cap to the floor. Luckily I was sitting on the floor anyway, so it didn't have too far to fall. I think he was ok. It rained hard all night and we got a taxi back.
Sunday the whole of my body was aching. That afternoon Phil and I gave D a lift back down to Coventry. Took us 3 and a half hours to do 150 miles. It was a slog of a journey, stuck in a jam for most of the way. And pretty much the same coming back, only this time complete with darkness and rain (nice). His house is the typical studenty type, as I remember. Basic, cold, scruffy etc. I noticed slug trails on the carpet - lurvely.
