One of our customers has sent a tube of mini eggs (tm) to my boss as a thankyou. No-one ever sends me mini eggs (tm) :(

Snow finally arrived last night, so I had a bit of a treacherous journey home from kungfu.

It took me an hour and a half to get to work this morning - a journey that normally takes 20 minutes. And I was still first in the office LOL. So this mornings gone pretty quickly :)

Kungfu was good last night, I was the only female, and the most senior belt (always makes me laugh)

My face mirrors his
and I lie where he once lay
constant reminders

I'm older than him
but will always be younger
I miss being teased

By seeing them smile
I realise its okay
we'll never forget

I'll tell you about my weekend now that I feel like it :)

It was nice to finish early on friday - and chill out. Had a meeting at night which lasted all evening :( but we came up with some good ideas.

I got up super early for a saturday to ring up for Chilis gig tickets which went on sale at nine. I was on the internet simultaneously and got through after an hour online, by which time all the tickets for standing and the first two tiers had gone. So I booked three tickets for Level three haha, and I'm scared of heights - eek. I went to kungfu, Farhat didn't train so I ended up being the 'senior' belt. I still dont feel worthy of that, theres so much I've forgotten, even simple things. It'll take a while for it all to come back I think.

That evening we went to a different pub (shock, horror!) Lauren went out with some other friends so we went to our *thursday pub* which isn't as far to walk for the rest of us. It was kareoke and the DJ was unbelievably awful. He didn't even have proper kareoke tracks, he just sang over the normal records. LOL. It was only the odd drunk that had a go, so we kept out of the way round the corner in the 'regulars' area :D

It was my turn to drum on sunday, I think I got a little carried away as my left calf muscle was sore yesterday (its either from that or the race I had up and down the hall with graham after the evening service?!)

Even though we've never met, the emotions I feel for you are real. Theres no way of contacting any of you, other than through this machine. And when people need help, how can I give it? Its hopeless.

Friday, January 23, 2004

I need to go clubbing soon, haven't been for ages and I've got the 'urge'! Won't be tonight though, I've got a meeting about youth alpha, plus I have to be up early tomorrow morning to try and get tickets for the Chili's gig. If I succeed early enough I might go to kungfu. Farhat will be there and I like training with her, plus I still need to get rid of these aches LOL.

I didn't write this but...

What can I do with my obsession?
With the things I cannot see

Sometimes you're further than the moon
Sometimes you're closer than my skin

You wrap around me like a winter coat
You've come and burned me with a kiss

And my heart burns for you

Finally got round to spending my gift vouchers last night that I got from work at Christmas. I had intended to spend them on seasonal beverages (as they were for the supermarket) but I decided to get some cd's I wanted instead. I have far too many cd's as it is, I've completely filled two storage units, and have a number of piles on the go - strategically placed. The additions to the family are the following albums; Damien Rice, Joss Stone, and Norah Jones. I've wanted the Norah Jones cd for months now, last week it was playing in a restaurant I was in - so that convinced me to pur-chase!

Listening to Damien Rice is making me want to pick up my guitar again - and learn to play it properly. hmph.

I can't control my limbs this morning cause of last night, LOL. I'm bound to fall over at some point, I already dropped my clock in card at the machine, ha. I'm pretty tired too, didn't sleep that well. Not having much work to do isn't helping that, but at least we have the radio to entertain us this morning, courtesy of internet Radio One :)

Tuesday, January 20, 2004

It'll be my first tuesday night back at kungfu tonight since before Christmas (the first tuesday I was ill, and last tuesday I was out for a meal that'd been arranged for ages) I'm not looking forward to it that much as I'm so out of practise - again. Its gonna be a killer.

We've hit a quiet(ish) patch at work, so its a little boring this week (this is why I keep messing on yahoo!) shame I can't get on zefrank outside of my lunchtime :(

I watched 'xmen' last night, whilst eating (toxic) salmon sandwiches, 'grizzler' pies and drinking a glass of red :) I've been told numerous times by numerous people how good xmen is, I just never felt the urge to see it until now. I hear the second one is better, I'll have to see if anyone has that ;)

Woo! Made it all smaller, all by my little self - fabulous :)

|

I keep getting a junk email titled "Re: fw: fw:" or something similar - no way am I opening them. They must think I'm DAFT! HA!

Had a good night friday. Seemed to have a real laugh. Becky and I were discussing which older male celebrities we'd marry, and reeled off an endless list. The men couldn't make it into double figures, sad :P

Didn't leave the house most of saturday - made a birthday card for my niece, and wrapped her present. That evening we had a night in for a change and watched Moulin Rouge and Austin Powers 1. Took a fantastic photo of the five of us lying on the floor - heads together. I got all heads on first go (just call me David Bailey!) ;)

Class was good yesterday, I actually managed to get a discussion going (the fact that all five showed up helped) Had a lazy afternoon, chatted with a friend via webcam for most of it - hes crazy and it was hilarious.

I'm so crap at these quizzes - I'm ashamed.

Going with the flow.... take my quiz!

I sent one of my friends from college an email yesterday - I haven't seen her since our graduation due to her living in Surrey, we've kept in touch though. I realised that this summer I wont have seen her for the same amount of time we were at college together, thats pathetic. I'm having real urges to jump in the car and crawl down the M6...

I watched a drama on tv last night, a true story about a 17 year old boy who was brutally murdered a few years ago in London by a gang, local witnesses would not come forward in fear for themselves. Its the most powerful piece of tv I've seen in a while. Ironically Phil had some news for me; one of his cousins is a bouncer and on New Years Eve he got attacked, and not for the first time. A couple of years ago he was attacked and nearly killed by a group wielding knives. I met him for the first time this Christmas, the scars from his slash wounds are horrific - covering his face. At the time some of them got charged with attempted murder, but were found not guilty for lack of evidence. Anyway, it turns out its the same group that attacked him at New Year. He's not as badly injured this time and I'm not sure if the police have been informed or not - they need locking up badly.

Seemed to be pretty busy this weekend, the plans I had for friday were overturned when someone suggested going for a drink, there was a band on but we got to sit around the corner where it wasnt so deafening. On saturday I went shopping with a friend, I got a webcam, which I finally managed to get working with a little help. Chatted to a couple of people, too much fun! :) That evening at the pub was interesting. Started off a quiet one but then seemed to get pretty roudy by the end. Theres this guy that goes in there every week (like us) that we call 'Butch' (a dumb character from a UK soap) he really looks and acts like him. He occasionally works behind the bar, but when he isn't hes always plastered. Anyway, him and his friends started throwing drinks at each other and he got thrown out - made us all laugh.

Phil and I took Damian back yesterday, Becky came along too. It was a good journey, the quickest we've done it yet. We unpacked all his stuff and Phil discovered he had a puncture. Damian helped him change the tyre while Becky and I waited inside (I think this is the point where you'll need background info - Before Christmas when we picked him up, he was the last one to leave the house. One of his housemates, Tim, had left a huge pile of dirty dishes which would have festered over the holidays. So before we left we all mucked in and washed them for him. Becky decided it'd be a good idea to leave him a note, just to let him know that us guests had done all his washing etc etc.) Anyway, so Becky and I are sat in Damians house alone as no-one else had returned yet. There we were playing cards when we heard a key in the door, we knew it wasn't Damian as his keys were on the table next to us. You know whats coming of course, its Tim. He said hi to us and walked into the kitchen (it was one of those moments where you want the ground to open) we stayed put and he unloaded his stuff. Damian and Phil came back and chatted with Tim, who then invited himself out for a meal with us. (I'm normally quite a friendly person, but I really dont know how Damian lives with this guy, he is so arrogant, loud and obnoxious - would drive me mad) He then invited the next housemate that came back too, Gareth. Interesting conversation was had round the table, quite a few times he tried to do a northern accent (not advisable amid five northeners) and was on top note all the time. He did actually thank us pathetically and explained the reason he didn't do them was because somebody else abruptly told him to before he left. They would have been infested if we hadn't done them, they already have slugs - the carpet was covered in shiny slug trails, urgh!

I could whine about him for a while, I'm sure your all bored now, I'll stop.

Friday, January 09, 2004

Well its good to have my first week over with, its gone quite quick (being off for a day may have contributed to this!) And today I finish early :)

I'll have to do some planning this afternoon for my class on sunday, the last session on "sex before marriage" before moving on to some other stuff. I got a book over Christmas that talks about the most commonly asked questions to do with Christianity, suffering, science & evolution, homosexuality, other religions, new age to name a few. That'll take us up until Easter. I dont think I'm cut out for teaching, and they're a really quiet group, its hard to get a debate going. They'll all stay in church from september so I'm considering joining them!

Finally spoke to Jo last night, she rang me when I was at the pub. I was sat right next to a speaker so I couldnt really hide the fact. Her and Craig always laugh at me for the amount of time I spend there (I think they're just jealous!) hehe. I challenged some of my drinking pals to come to kungfu with me tomorrow, D said he would, but I bet he chickens out.

Not sure what the plan is tonight, I have some ideas though. It will either entail, a nice relaxing evening watching film of what name I am yet to decide whilst drinking leftover new year Grolshe, or going to the Trafford Centre, which is open until 10. I need to get my niece a birthday present, I'm gonna get her a nice snuggly dressing gown. My intuition is telling me the former is more likely. LOL

I keep having nightmares lately, not quite sure why. I dont even want to tell you as they're so horrible. Maybe its all the cheese I've been eating of late (is that true anyway?!) Theres a program on UK tv at the moment where the contestants have to stay awake all week, the winner gets £90k+. I so could not do that, I need my sleep too much. I can feel my eyelids going even now, after one bad night LOL.

I was off work sick yesterday (what a great start to the year!) As soon as I got in on monday night I started with this stomach ache, the sort of ache you get when punched in the stomach, it stayed with me all evening and all night. The following morning I got up for work and it was still there, I decided not to go in and later that day the unpleasant stuff started. Then at about ten last night it went, just as suddenly as it came - strangeness. I slept like a baby.

My friend from college, Jo called me last night and invited Phil and I on holiday with them this summer. I had a chat with him last night afterwards, and we're going. Jo's suggestions were either Northumbria or Cornwall. We'd prefer Cornwall as we did Northumbria a while back, and you get better weather down there. I'm gonna call her back tonight to agree on a date :)

Monday, January 05, 2004

It was so hard to get up this morning, for the past two weeks I think the earliest I've got up was 9.30. I've been staying up later, and sleeping in later - foolish, foolish me.

Its not too bad today, its quiet, for now; I'm sure that'll change soon though :/ We got a new printer today, its hum-ung-ous. I truly did not know they made printers this big. It had to be delivered to our office via a forklift truck and then lifted (dragged really) into our office by four blokes - its about the size of a small fridge. Wow.

Wow, happy new year all :)

Its been a lovely break, Christmas was good. Went into town on Christmas Eve, and survived. It was packed as expected and I didn't have much to drink as it took so long to get served, but it was a good night none the less. I had to be ok for the morning anyway to sing and drum at church (hangovers don't go well with that!) I got a new mobile phone, which I'm highly impressed with - its beautiful! And Christmas day was good, Phils folks joined us, and I think they had a good time. My sister in law, her parents and my niece came along too. No brother - again, ah well. Theres been so many family parties (mine and Phils) so much food, and drink to go with it. I do have a couple more inches on my wasteline (I had to take a new pair of trousers back today to get the size higher - oops)

Finally got to see Return of the King on monday night - my life is now complete! On New Years Eve a friend of mine threw a party at his house. We normally go out, but this year our usual was ticket only, and also sold out in November! It was an enjoyable time, which consisted mainly of internet kareoke and scoffing. Had a little tiff with Phil when he was nowhere to be seen as big ben strook twelve on tv. I stood in a room full of snogging people feeling a little daft. So, he ended up being the last person that kissed me - I was not amused. We had a little slanging match upstairs before forgetting it and carrying on partying! At one point I remember having a few drinks on the go at once, scattered around the house - saves me carrying them, I figured :) Yesterday was the yearly New Years day family party at Phils. Which is always ok - except one of Phils cousins always flirts with him, which always makes me mad. I'm sure theres nothing in it, but I'm such a green eyed monster. If any girl so much as looks at him I'm ready to kick her arse! Anywho...

No plans as yet for the weekend, one last chance to relax before the inevitable rush when I go back to work on monday - but I'm not thinking about that yet - honest. Oh wait I just did, damn!
