Gah! Someones trying to ruin my friday!
Had a row with Phil last night - mostly alcohol fuelled but with real underlying problems. I'm getting seriously itchy feet, I really am ready to move out now - my parents (as much as I love them) are annoying the hell out of me at the moment, well my Dad is. Problem is, theres no way I can afford it on my own the way house prices are at the moment. I refuse to rent, cause its dead money.
It was a cryptic argument - okay I was trying to hint that I'm ready to get hitched. I've had a job for 3 years now, I paid off my loan and I have cash saved. What is he waiting for?! He's 31 and still living with his parents. I feel really selfish thinking this, and its not exactly the right reason TO get married.
This morning I've been thinking. This attitude is so wrong, so when the house prices fall (they have to soon) I'm going to start looking for my own (little) place. The more I think about it, the more I want it. I think I'd be okay living on my own.

Update on my seemingly neverending week:-
Kungfu was okay, no pretty good actually. The I cammed with Rune in my PJ's and chatted about punchbags - I really need to start using mine again, I may take his advice and fill it with sand to make it heavier :)
Last night I went to Phils for dinner, we had Spag Bol. Then we watched Kill Bill as I had planned ;) I was pretty annoyed at one point to discover that he was asleep! He claimed he only missed five minutes, but asked me questions throughout the rest of the film. "Who's he?" etc etc. Jo rang towards the end, its pay up time for our holiday so I'm £309 poorer (until Phil pays me his half) I sent the cheque this morning. Looking forward to a beer or five tonight ;)

Just listnening to Ben Folds Five - The Battle of Who Could Care Less, on Sixmusic. Haven't heard this in ages, it always reminds me of college when Craig lent me the tape, I've since bought the cd. :)
I was just about to post my opinions on abortion on the board but then websense came to greet me, dammit!
This week is completely dragging its heels. Its so quiet, we have no work to do. Which is nice, but so boring. I can't believe its only tuesday!
Socially I'm busy though. Tonight I'm kungfu-ing, tomorrow night I'm going to Phil's for dinner then I'm going to try and make him watch Kill Bill. Thursday night I might go to kungfu again, then pub as usual. Friday night, pub as usual, Saturday we're running a fun day at the park. D, Ryan and I are going to have a rehearsal when everythings set up, then go back to help take stuff down. Pub at night. Sunday morning I have picked the songs so that should be good, then in the afternoon we're doing an outreach thing in the park. Then straight after that we're celebrating Ryans 21st birthday in style as the monday is a holiday - pub crawl/barbeque (weather permitting) Monday I imagine we'll do something through the day, just because we can.
Seems so long off though :(

Graham picked me up at 9.00pm on friday. It was a good journey, the M1 was pretty clear all the way. We had Jelly Babies every ten miles until we felt sick. Only lasted about 70 miles! We arrived at 12.50am which wasn't bad going. Stayed up for an hour chatting to Ady and Rach and hit the sack.
Ady woke us up at 10.30am and we got up slowly. Martin was hoping to go on the London Eye, but we didn't have time in the end. We had a wander around Harrow and got some beer in ready for the F.A.Cup Final at 3pm. One can, per half, I really had to pace myself! United won unfortunately. Then we all got ready and went into the city. The tube was packed. We had something to eat in Leicester Square, and then went to the first bar of the evening in Soho. It was a proper cocktail bar, after studying the menu for several minutes, I chose a "Jamaican Breeze." I was quite worried when I saw her put Ginger Beer in it (didn't mention that on the menu and I'm no lover!) but it tasted lovely, still not sure she even made the right drink though, she had trouble understanding me with my accent! It was pretty nice in there so we stayed for another. Many more drinks were consumed and by the end of the night my feet were killing me. (Not used to standing up all night!)I was quite surprised to see the tube packed again on the way back - bizarre.
We slept in again on sunday morning. Adrian made bacon sandwiches for everyone and we watched the start of the Grand Prix. That afternoon we went for a walk around a lake in Hertfordshire. It was quite a warm sunny day, and it was nice to relax. We set off back home at 4pm and had another good journey, back for 8pm. Went to the pub after unpacking. Good weekend, though I'm shattered this morning!
Oh yeah, my Mum finally got her leg in plaster on friday and she came home on saturday morning :)

Mum's ok I think, she got upset yesterday afternoon apparently but was a little chirpier when I saw her last night. She certainly won't be bored this time as the rest of the women on the ward are all nutty! They put on an introvenus (..spelling?) antibiotic drip overnight. That'll sort her out.
We went to the pub last night too, Lauren's idea as she wont see us (me) now until next week. Looking forward to London :)

Dammit!
Mum has had to go back into hospital.. yet again. Her wounds are 'badly infected.' How did the district nurse not spot this sooner? She'll have to stay in now until its cleared up. I am so not impressed with the 'treatment' they've given her so far. Does anyone know what they're doing in that place? I've been patient up until now, now I'm angry.

Feeling better today, the sun is shining again. I did a pile of ironing last night that-took-me-the-whole-evening, I take my mother for granted. I treated myself to beer as a reward. HA!
Its really quiet in work today, and pretty boring actually. But I'm looking forward to my weekend. Four of us are going down to Harrow again to visit Rachel and Ady. We'll probably be going out in Soho on saturday night. Guaranteed fun. I can't wait - a break from Oldham and a certain female someone will do me good I think.

Not a bad weekend, pub as usual on friday - it wasn't a great night, Ryan and Lauren we're at Lauren's leavers do so it was just the four of us. A bunch of skinhead type rough guys came in and sat near us. They left after a couple though, thankfully.
I woke up on saturday with a bad headache, I had ran out of ibuprofen and borrowed some of mums. Phil and I went shopping in town but after a while I noticed I kept going really dizzy. We went home where I discover that the tablets I took of mums were double strength, "one, three times a day" I took two! oops. Phils parents went away that morning so we went round to his place. I took it easy on the beer as I was still feeling iffy.
On sunday afternoon we went for a nice stroll around the park, it was a lovely day so it was fun. That evening we went back to Grahams, I still had a fair bit of beer there from the last time.
I took this morning off for Marks funeral. Its another sunny day and a lot of people turned up. I saw a few old faces, which was nice, but it was awkward under the circumstances. I really felt for Debbie, she seemed to cope with it very well. I have a feeling I won't see her again though, thats kind of sad.
I'm sort of in a daze now, sat here in work. I think the others are afraid to speak to me. I didn't sleep well, I need my bed.

I went to kungfu last night, it was hard. A lot of people were very upset, including myself. Theres so many memories of him that lie in that room. We found out the cause of his death was pneumonia, which he apparently had had before. We're all going to his funeral which is on monday.

Hopefully my Mum will be coming home today, she was a bit down yesterday as she missed her aunties funeral, so Dad got her some chocolate and sweeties.
Had some bad news later in the evening, Dad rang to tell me that one of my friends from kungfu had died the night before. He was only 36 and has a wife and two children. I've known them for years and the last time I saw him was on my first day back at kungfu last year. I'm more shocked than anything else, its not like I was that close to him. I just can't help thinking about Debbie, his wife. She must be distraught.

Blurgh... I feel sick - this time its not self inflicted.
My wisdom tooth is on the move again, my BAD one. Bottom right, its literally growing into my back tooth. I think a visit to the dentist might have to be on the cards.
Its scary though, my last dentist told me, that if I have it taken out, theres a risk of damage to a nerve that runs along the jaw. Possibly causing facial paralysis. I'm scared, hold me.

Mum went back to hospital on friday. They put her leg in plaster but had to lift her foot up into the right position first. When they x-rayed it some of the bones had moved out of place and she was told she needed an operation. I went to see her on friday before going to the pub. I was really worried about her, especially after what happened to Dave. It was stupid really, the chances of anything happening are so slim.
So I drowned my sorrows at the pub. There was a really crap duo on. They had a drum machine, I never could understand the reason for their existence! It wasn't a brilliant night. Theres this guy whos been trying to chat up Lauren even though he knows she has a boyfriend. Phil knows him from school I think, he's on drugs, is always drunk, and is generally an a-hole. Anyway, for some reason he thought he could sit with us, he really wound me up and I got angry. So I went to the toilet and punched a hole in one of the cubicle doors - well not a *hole* just an indentation. Better that than his face, I thought. He'd gone when I got back, probably a good thing. I finished the evening crying on Phil's shoulder. What a plonker.
I got my first monkey mailing on saturday, from Avalon - coolness :) I met Phil at the bus-stop at 12. I told Dad to ring me if he had any news on Mum. We caught the bus to Manchester and I swapped the cool shirt I bought the week before for a larger size. Nearly got into another fight in McDonalds LOL! There were no tables at all and Phil and I had been waiting a while. Three girls came down after us and pushed past us when someone had finished. I was having none of it and muscled my way in, apparantly I pulled a face at one of them, which I didn't think I did. Phil told me off, hehe! Dad rang me at 1.30, Mum was back on the ward and okay.
Phil and I went out for dinner at the Fairview, we both had the Chicken New Yorker - Chicken topped with bacon and melted cheese, chunky chips with sour cream and barbeque sauce dip, and salad. Then we went to see Mum. She was still pretty groggy from the anaesthetic, so we didn't stay long. She was okay though.
Quite a funny thing happened. Martin had been out with his workmates the night before and he told us that one of them had broken their arm. I noticed a girl in the opposite bed to my Mum had a broken arm. I asked him if she had blonde hair, she did, I remembered her name and asked if she was called Cheryl, she was! I only said it as a joke, but it turns out this girl is actually her! LOL! Had a better evening that night. Lauren stayed over - again. I think its becoming a regular thing.
I had to do the ironing after church on sunday (hate ironing) Phil gave me a lift to the hospital afterwards, Dad was already there. I was really tired and needed a sleep really, but didn't have time before dinner. The three of us had a curry and then it was back to church. Martin wasn't there as it was his birthday, he'd gone out for a meal. So it was solo time for me, the pressure was on! I played numerous games of pool while the kids went on the bouncy castle in the hall - then we went for birthday drink. Can't wake up this morning!

We had a meeting last night after Brigade, within the last twelves months we've lost 50% of the older members. The problem is Brigade, nationally is so old-fashioned. Its just not relevant anymore. Jeff suggested that we ditch the uniform and badgework and instead concentrate on the D of E award scheme (for those who want to do it). That means a lot of pressure would be taken off all the officers to come along every thursday and would only attend if required on that night. Sounds good to me, it is sad though. As so many kids have come right through into adulthood over the years (including myself). But its time for change, just as society is changing, we need to meet their needs.
Didn't manage to get to the pub until quarter to 10. Which was probably a good thing as I had to drive this morning. I spent the latter part of the evening arguing that the skin is classed as an organ.. I'm right aren't I?

Rune persuaded me to buy Kill Bill last night, I went round to Lauren's with Ryan and we watched it together. I am highly impressed, enjoyed every minute - can't wait to see the second one.
I want a yellow biker suit.. and bike :)

I had fun this weekend... mostly. I went to see Lauren on friday afternoon as she was going to a friends party that evening. The rest of us went to the pub that night. We chatted to the new landlady, Angie, for a good while before leaving. Shes really nice. I got home and fell asleep on the couch, a worried Dad rang me at 5am to see where I was! Good thing he did or I'd have been there all night.
I was planning on going to the Trafford Centre on saturday with Martin, I wanted Graham to come too as Martins been trying it on with me lately. He had to do overtime so it ended up being just the two of us. I was in no fit state to drive and we decided to catch a bus to Manchester instead, it turned out to be a really nice sunny day. I bought a few tops and stuff and we had a pint outside Sinclairs. There was a classical music festival on and tons of people were watching. Sinclairs was packed, I bet they made a fortune! It was a lovely atmosphere. I got home to discover that one of my tops was too small, doh! I wanted to wear it that evening too. Graham had a late night barbeque which was fun, although a little chilly! And Rachel and Ady were home again, always good to catch up. Lauren stayed at my house so I had a bad nights sleep again (she snores)
I had a kip on sunday afternoon before going to Grahams for another barbie (in daylight this time) I started drinking at 4.30 and we went to the pub at 8. I had a LOT. Had a little bit of a tiff with Phil after he told me off for being drunk. We went back to Grahams again after that where I immediately fell asleep. Lauren stayed at mine again so I had another sleepless night! In the morning we watched the Neverending Story (memories!) Dave lent it to me. I need to see II and III now! And Britney Spears live from Miami - hehe.
We finished off the weekend at the pub, and watched the snooker final. I began to flag after about half an hour and slept like a baby last night. I really needed a lie in this morning :(
